"We shall not defeat any of the infectious diseases that plague the developing world until we have also won the battle for safe drinking water, sanitation, and basic health care."
Kofi Annan
Sanitation and cleanliness are among the humblest of the civic virtues whose significance can be easily underestimated. Increasing health and sanitation can generate more social and economic benefits in a developing country like India. Health and sanitation are two concepts which are directly proportional to each other, meaning thereby that, poor sanitation is linked to transmission of various diseases which in turn reduces human well-being, social and economic development.
In order to contribute towards the increase in level of health and wellness of people in rural India, We, at MAA Foundation aim to provide the basic healthcare facilities in these rural areas by setting up dental and medical camps for regular check-ups, providing sanitisers and masks during the COVID-19 pandemic and organise various awareness drives to make people aware of the importance of health, sanitation and cleanliness in and around their households.
MAA Foundation also aims to reduce the problem of open defecation in rural areas by helping in chalking out proper sewage disposal mechanism with the concerned authorities. Further, we also aim to create awareness regarding the menstrual hygiene in areas wherein it is still considered lowly.
